The color values of this painting is both complimentary and similar. For complimentary, the colors purple and yellow compliment each other. The hues are similar because of the blues and purples. The artist used these colors to help certain shades stand out in the picture like the yellow moon and the light purple shade on the owl. I think these colors blend well in this Shag photo.
